India is known for the grand celebration of festivals which happen all through the year. Along with festivals there are many rituals which are performed on various occasions like house warming, marriage, naming ceremony etc. And also many follow daily rituals at home.

Most of the rituals have been followed from generations and believed to benefit the performer and their family members in many ways. The elders at home pass the knowledge of rituals and other traditions to the youngsters. The pandit ji (priest) who has the knowledge of rituals also help a lot in transferring the knowledge. Some of the rituals are complicated and hence usually performed only by the panditjis.

Undestanding the steps and meaning of the rituals helps in performing the rituals properly and helps in reaping the benefits.

Being spiritually inclined from childhood, I always wanted to explore more about God, rituals, etc and I happened to meet Adarsh Panditji in a temple close to my home who seemed very friendly and knowledgeable in this area. I built a good rapport with him and expressed interest in learning more about rituals. Panditji agreed to share knowledge of spirituality, rituals etc.

Started learning about basic steps to do puja at home daily. Noted down important mantras. Got to understand how to read the panchang, masas, moon movements and the names of days as per Hindu calendar. The learning is going on and looks like it will take ages to understand everything because it is so vast, but very interesting.

I thought of sharing this knowledge to those who are interested and hence created this website using basic digital skills. And felt it would be good to start with Ganapati festival. You can follow the steps listed below to perform the Ganesha puja at your home. Wish you happy Ganesha puja.
